Morning in a skatepark was an interesting time to come. It was far to early for the skaters to show up, but too late for the junkies and whatnot to be waiting around for some poor child to wander into their midst. It was the calmest time of day for the humans, but the most active for the hybrids that would come along this area. Nobody could catch them here, unless the police took an early run, and either way, it would seem that it was still by far safer than any other place that you could be in at this time of day. Many may think it insane to be found lurking around in broad daylight, wings spread wide, and whatnot, but it wasn't too much for Dakota. She was ready for the world to shake itself awake before she would leave her location.
Currently, she was sitting on a bench, her tawny wings streched out and resting on the table that was pulled up behind her. It seemed like she was taking a nap, her eyes closed, a ballcap pulled over her eyes to prevent the oncoming sun, but she was actually on full alert. She knew she would need to be aware of the people coming before they were alert of her being there. She was on edge, waiting for the crackle of a footstep, or a flash of emotion. Dakota would be quick to get away, but that didn't really matter. She was, for once, in a good mood, and had the slight intention in her mind to maybe recruit somebody for the Circe flock. It took a lot for Dakota to trust a person for the flock, but maybe she would be able to find somebody worth it...

Jetta circled high overhead, enjoying a slightly warmer updraft as it whistled past her face and her outspread wings. She loved mornings like this. The sun had not completely risen yet but it was clearly on its way. Jetta eyed the park below and its occupent. The otherwise empty park seemed safe so Jetta decided to head down for a visit. Jetta lit down on the edge of the larger bowl, or whatever skaters called it, in the center of the skate park, and tucked her large brown wings firmly against her back. She swiped her hair out of her eyes and then looked back toward the direction of the other female that she had spotted with her tawny wings stretched out. Jetta had to admire her casual style. Jetta had not met Dakota yet but she had heard about the other girl and had been interested in meeting her for some time now. Apparently the other girl was also an alpha when it came to flocks. She grimly wondered if Dakota was having just as much luck finding flock members as she was.
Jetta walked over to the bench where Dakota was sitting, careful to make her presence known but not to seem too arrogant or over-confident by barging up on Dakota while she seemed to be resting. Jetta had a look of relaxation, as usual, and her posture did nothing to help her non-existent up-tight and jittery reputation. "Hello." She said with a smile, flopping down on an opposite bench away from the apparently sleeping girl. Jetta guessed that Dakota was probably not sleeping if she had the same hearing abilities as Jetta had thanks to her foreign DNA. "Mind if I join you?"

Dakota couldn't say that she felt the air disturbance that another bird-kid made as they landed, but she had a feeling that somebody was nearby. Paranoia seemed to come with the bird- kid package, but she couldn't say that she didn't like it. She almost relished in the fact that her parnoia typically was correct, making her just that much ready for an attack of sorts. So, even though her senses weren't heightened enough to be able to tell somebody was actually landing the in the middle of the skatepark, she was able to tell that they weren't a threat in the fact that the footsteps seemed to appear out of nowhere. Meaning they either jumped from a tree, which she probably would've heard the impact, or landed.
Of course, Dakota hadn't met this newcomer yet, but seeing as minimal bird-kids were around this area, there was a large chance that it was somebody from the Derynn flock. Her flight feathers bristled, but she remained neutral in her appearance. Maybe it's that flock leader that I've heard about. Jenna, Jenny, Jet... Though Dakota couldn't recall the name of the girl, she knew that she was important, seeing as this city was probably her land before she flew up here. Flocks were starting to be hard to come by, and there was a possibility that this person was just a longer looking for a place to stay, needing a bit of security that Dakota could probably provide if she was in the hospital mood or not...
Dakota counted the brief seconds between each step, giving her a good idea about the stature and intentions of the other presence. As she got close enough, as Dakota presumed it was a girl, she peeked out from behind the ballcap nonchalantly and rather unnoticeably, her muscles seeming to go into a state where they weren't ready to spring on the dime, but they weren't quite relaxed. The girl seemed to be the other flock leader, and it was sometimes hard to identify whether they were here for peace or war. It wasn't often Flocks went up againt eachother, but Dakota wasn't used to the customs of this new town quite yet.
The girl spoke, and Dakota gave her a nod, hearing her sit down on the bench. As the other asked if she could sit there, Dakota gave a shake of her head, meaning she didn't mind. After a second, Dakota flicked up her ball cap, a few dirty-blonde strands of hair falling into her face lazily, giving the girl a scrutinizing glance to figure out a bit more about her. She seemed to fit the description said to be the Derynn flock leader. "Dakota," she said briefly, giving a nod towards the other girl to motion that she was introducing herself and not speaking in some foreign langauge. Dakota had learned to do such, seeing as there were people who would think you were saying hi or something of the sorts.

"Jetta of Derynn." Jetta introduced herself, folding her long legs underneath herself on the bench across from Dakota. Loosening her wings which she had pressed tightly on either side of her spine, she let the early morning breeze drift through them, enjoying the chill. A few birds were beginning to chirp but it was still fairly early. She leaned back against her bench, turning her face to the sky and closing her eyes momentarily to enjoy the dawn before straightening back up.
“How long have you been around here?” She asked, curious. The other avian female presented a great curiosity for Jetta; she had not normally spent time in the company of others like her much before then and she thought that they were simply fascinating. However, not usually one to initiate a conversation first, Jetta was going out of her way out of curiosity and desperation to get adapted to this new and foreign territory. “And have you, by any chance, happened on any erasers yet?”
Jetta had not seen hide or hair of any erasers yet but her senses were still thrown off a little by all of the new surroundings and smells. If Dakota had spied some new erasers, Jetta would have to claim her territory fast. She also wanted the chance to be able to study and figure them out before she had forces enough to be able to at least fight back. As a temporary loner, Jetta knew that most of the individual avian humans did not stand a chance if they happened to get attacked by a group. Rustling her wings to get her feathers to cooperate, Jetta tucked them back in and slid her dark hoodie over them and sitting up straight; all business now.

Dakota nodded as the other girl introduced her self as Jetta from the Derynn flock. Interesting... So, there were other flocks in this area. Dakota wouldn't admit it, but she was glad that she'd seen other flock leader, just because of a few other encounters. At least she had the information that she needed to get around this place. Jetta repositioned herself, letting her wings unfold. Dakota smiled. Most other bird-kids wouldn't just let their wings unfold and relax like that, so it was refreshing to get a new personality around here. The girl was leaning casually agains the bench, and Dakota could tell that she was the head of the flock. She just had the posture and the aura of a natural leader. Much like Dakota could have when she was actually trying to appear like such.
When Jetta asked how long she'd been around here, Dakota was able to count on her fingers. "Nearly three months," she held up the number three on her hands, smirking. Three months. It was a long time for her, but she had easily adapted to the flow of the town, and was able to get along well. When Jetta asked if she had seen any Erasers, she nodded slowly. "One, I'm pretty sure. He was down by the mall, loner if I'm correct, but he isn't looking for trouble," she started, tilting her head curiously towards the other leader. Did that mean she hadn't seen an Eraser around these parts? If they were so minimal, then maybe they could actually accomplish something in these parts without being made into doggie-toys for the Erasers...
"What about you? You've been here long?" She finished, and noticed that Jetta had tucked her wings in, and her emotions were serious. She didn't like it. Dakota's muscles tensed, though she couldn't tell you why. It was just natural response when somebody had a serious expression or emotion. Sure, it was about Erasers, so they should be serious, but she really doubted they were going to get ambushed or anything. But, it was always a possibility. Then again, if the information about Jetta had been correct, it wouldn't be a difficult fight. Unless there were more than four. Dakota was good at fighting by herself, but even with a partner, four would probably be almost too much for just two bird-kid to handle by themselves.

Jetta was better at understanding spoken languages but she wasn't bad at body language. Knowing that no one would be out at the park for a little while and that even if they were she would hear them first, Jetta figured relaxing herself slightly would not hurt in the least. She did not untuck them as loosely as before but she loosened her wings slightly and leaned back again, her expression one of lazy contentment.
"Three months." Jetta mused, marveling. It seemed insane for any of them to stay in the same spot for longer than a week or two. She was closing in on a long time as well though, much to her surprise. Jetta had not seen any of the other erasers yet but she knew that one particular female was around somewhere. Not sure if TAGG had been put into the field yet, Jetta stayed quiet. It was bad enough having the same DNA as one of the erasers; great way to get no one to trust her.
"I have been here for nearly a month." Jetta said; not long at all compared to Dakota but still long in her mind. Especially long not to have seen erasers yet. Then again she had not been that active in the general public yet. In truth she was very happy that another flock leader was here; even if they went their separate ways most of the time it did mean another ally in the case of an attack or anything else that could go wrong.
"Which general area do you consider your territory?" Jetta asked so she could note it and make sure she respected the boundaries as well as know where to locate Dakota if she ever needed anything. Vaguely aware that the question would probably be slightly suspicious if Dakota distrusted her Jetta decided to go with it anyways; it would not hurt to ask.

Dakota smiled as Jetta unfolded her wings again, glad that the leader wasn't planning on attacking her or anything. Not that she would turn down a good sparring oppurtunity, it was just that she wasn't in the mood to go for defense, and would probably get carried away with her attacks. She did that often, especially when she wasn't in the mood to fight, but that wasn't the most of her worries. The Erasers not being here was unnerving almost, because that meant they were banning together, or something, and it was going to be big. She was against it, she wouldn't hear of it, and if there was an attack, she would go down fighting, but she wouldn't hide. She wasn't one to give him to the attacks, more so dive right in and win the fight quickly.
When Jetta said that she had only been here for a month, Dakota absently bristled. She had power, then, to already have a leader's position. It wasn't that she was afraid of the girl, it was just that she didn't know what to say about it. But a powerful leader would make a fantastic ally, if Jetta was into that kind of stuff. She needed somebody that she could trust, or she would probably go insane, though she actually did not trust that easily. "The part of town under construction, and you?" Dakota answered musingly. Even if Jetta wasn't somebody to be trusted, she didn't see why saying where a territory was would be harmful. It just was something that could be stay off or face the consequences. But she had a feeling Jetta wasn't that kind of person...

Jetta was enjoying the company and she absentmindedly stretched her legs out a little, enjoying the warmth of the rapidly rising sun. Others would be coming soon. She felt slightly at the short end of the stick compared to Dakota, who had the advantage of two extra months to get to know the area and habits of its humans. She mused, knowing that Dakota would be a frightening enemy and a powerful ally. Luckily, she was looking like an ally right then.
"We are on the outskirts of town, by the old war bunker. Not much of a city girl myself." She wrinkled her nose, eyes glittering with amusement. She liked someone else knowing where they at based camp in case something came up and one of them needed to get ahold of the other for one reason or another. Plus, if she did not show a little trust now then the whole flock involvement with each other would probably end up negative due to the leader biases.
Cocking her head slightly, Jetta noted voices. The city was waking up. However, she would remain relaxed until she was sure someone was coming; she was enjoying herself far too much. Any company besides the rats and feral house cats back in the fields would have been welcome then but luckily she had someone similar to herself to talk to.
